And down the winding path we go...

Well, I've formally put in three bids at Guru.com. If everything works (i.e. I get all three) I am looking to make at least two grand. With that much money, I can give Blocks Of Babble the editing treatment it deserves and get it out on Lulu.com with an ISBN number. With that one 13 digit number, I go worldwide! I'm put on a big catelogue -- the kind that Barnes and Noble, Waldens, Borders and other major book chains use to order... and I can still sell them privately. Trust me, if this works out, I am going to shamelessly whore out my work like you'd never believe.

I've still got a lot of projects running through my head, and I'm still stuck on the suicide scene in Spooksayer. it's hard trying to reconstruct something from memory and really hit the mark like I did before. Now, I can hear a lot of you saying 'Back it up, idiot!'. To wit I will reply: "What am I supposed to do when both my back-up and my main drive fail?" Yes -- that's right. Both my 100Gb and my 300Gb hard drives failed. 25 Gb of .mp3 files = 400 hours of music... 18 Gb of pictures (some of them I can't replace because the model retired and took all of her photos off of the Internet! Anyone know who I am talking about, because this was a big thing among her certain circle of fans can contact me at my e-mail address (enoonerehwon at earthlink.net) with the subject heading of this particular model's name. Any photos you have will be accepted gratefully, and if there is a way I can repay you, I will endeavor to do so) and notes, manuscripts and language tables all in limbo until I can get the drives fixed... if I can at all. My new laptop can accept flash drives, so I'm using those now. My PC can't (that's how old it is), so I end up using my laptop for writing, and my PC for some games, a majority of my Internet surfing and checking out webcomics.

Still batting .000 on the job hunt, but I am placing a little faith that Guru can help me out. All I need is a small chance. Just one teensy-weensy chance to get my foot in the door.

Oh -- a review of the movie "Troy" = not too bad. Was treated as being more sympathetic to the Trojans, and painted the majority of the Greeks as rapatious power-hungry killers, with the exception of Achilles and Odysseus (which they called him Ulysses -- which was his name in Latin. Come on! Just because X:WP got away with sort of lackadasiacal research doesn't mean a big Hollywood studio can do it too!). The casting was good, but they treated the gods of Greece as these distant conceptual figures, much like people treat God in this society. I did like the way that they treated Achilles' invulnerability -- you see him get into fights and come out unscathes, not because of any sort of supernatural power (as in Homer's epic), but more from his skill as a fighter. The supporting cast is excellent -- including Eric Bana as Hector and Orlando Bloom as Paris... especially Orlando Bloom. After watching him in "Pirates Of The Carribean" and "The Lord Of The Rings" saga, I thought having him as Paris... and facing the Spartan (can't remember his name) would be a knock-down, drag out fight. Instead, Orlando acted as Paris should have acted -- far over his head and not bright enough to listen to his elders. As much as it may gall some of you out there, he is a good actor. I give this DVD 9 out of 10 spears. I can't wat for "The 300" to hit the theatres. I read the graphic novel, and I've seen some of the production video diaries. Man! Is this movie gonna blow everything out of the water or what? I have to count Alan Moore as one of my big influences as a writer.

Spooksayer word count: 5592... and it will be a lot higher once I get through this suicide!
